Step by Step Foundation was born out of personal necessity.

" Four years ago I injured my spinal cord in a car accident.  As a result, I have been compelled to move around using a wheelchair.

One of the things that surprised me most after the acute care phase, was the inability  to find a centre that could offer me intensive rehabilitation treatment. Then, Oscar Lanza a motocross champion who happens to be a good friend of mine that also suffered a debilitating accident, found a spinal cord treatment facility in the United States called Project Walk. There, we had the opportunity to experience first hand their intensive treatment programme. Upon returning home, I realised how important and beneficial our experience was, but I had to discontinue treatment because here in Europe there was nothing like it.

I think the existence of a centre where people who want to work for further improvements is critical. It is essential to offer a treatment programme that addresses every level of injury and adapts to each individual, according to the progress that undoubtedly will be made. "
